Instead of banning people they should look at they incredibly messed up failing dishonor system. If their support works the same they should all be fired. It's unbelievable how you get an dishonor WHILE you play and some retard reports you for fun. And when I see someone push Frenzy for 10min in the base I get a dishonor for reporting him as a leecher! FAILNET!

Sorry to be rude, but you really are an idiot... Maybe personal attacks on someone you don't know are not the best way to argue.
Sure "What are you talking about you unranked jealous noob ?" is a valid point...
Ranks are worth nothing in this game, they're something good players don't really care about, they've got an alliance, a friendlist, and they know each other.
Real high end gvgers are certainly proud of their champ 6+ ranks, but I highly doubt they play for the rank... And even if you bspiked of sync farmed your way to champ 3, you're not going to get into real high end gvg that easily if you suck.
If people want to pay for statues in HoM, what's the problem ?
For your interest, I do have decent ranks that allowed me to win hoh several times and to run in ha with r12+ people, and I do have top100 gvg experience. Believe it or not, I don't give a **** about what you think, and that's totally out of the subject.
If I were a troll like you, I'd say that most of the so called "high ranked" people I met that were too obsessed by ranks were the most terrible players, and that you're certainly one of them...

Hero IS a bit retarded (See IWAY), Glad sync farming is being sorted, Champ farming is bannable, commander is essentially ruined and too wide spread to ever repair, zaishen was ruined from the moment keys were tradable.

These statues are supposed to be EARNED with a player's SKILL and NOT their gold.
Get that in your head. You CANNOT buy EVERYTHING in the game, if you don't have the ABILITY to get the statue with your PVP skill, accept it is beyond you and no amount of gold is going to change that.

It's one thing to look down on players that purchase fame. Lord knows I do. It's quite another to suggest that the current policy makes selling fame farming services bannable.
The current policy makes "match manipulation" bannable. This is defined as throwing a match ("not participating in good faith"). Here, both the service provider and the customer put forth full effort to win the match. Compare to champ point farming, where an entire team /resigns, or leeching in FA/JQ/RA. This is clearly not match manipulation as the term has been defined.
What we have here is the virtual equivalent of an activist judge. The OP's argument is: you have banned me for an offense that is not bannable under present policies. The GM's argument is: the statute doesn't say it, but we meant that too. The OP's counterargument is: I can't derive that logically from the statutes.
This reveals the flaw with activism: it makes actors unable to condition their behavior on anticipated future consequences. Justice would be served by unbanning the player and updating the rules to reflect the intent of the policy. The present situation is no more just than an ex post facto law.

I get the impression that many forget that the OP is talking about Heroes Ascent. There is no ladder in Heroes Ascent. You can face R1-15 here and the matchmaking ignores your ranks.
Also, I believe the buyer doesn't leech. He plays to win, just like the seller. To increase the chances of winning offcourse. So the opponent doesn't have a problem facing someone who manipulates the outcome of the match.
If selling fame is a problem. So is selling goldcape membership, dungeon running or XP-leeching. I don't know why Anet keeps getting themselves into these discusions with stupid mistakes.
Ate.

Analogies to PvE do not apply. Rank in PvP in general (and HA in particular) is widely used as a rough metric for skill (whether rightfully or wrongfully). This cannot be said for Cartographer, Vanquisher, etc.
The problem here is obviously the titles themselves - when you add any kind of farmable win meter, people are going to try to find efficient ways to increase it. The problem is exacerbated by the HoM - people who normally wouldn't care about PvP titles at all suddenly want them so they can display in the HoM and carry-over to GW2.
Skill-based games need to remain about skill, rather than false prestige.

If the moderator stated this thread was closed earlier because it had ran its course, why is it still open? It's like someone removed the lock placed on it and bumping it. It seems disrespectful to the moderator who closed it. He had a reason, as was stated above. This post is no different from the OP previous post. It's a simple copy and paste.

It's not unsportsmanlike conduct. Do you people not get this?
There's no ladder manipulation, or any manipulation. You faced R10+ teams all the time - now you're facing an R10 team with an R5 who paid his way into the group. How is this unsportsmanlike conduct?
The player doesn't leech - he has to play as well. There's no manipulation, no afk farming, nothing of the sort.
It is akin to a PvE runner, because the PvE runner is bypassing the traditional outlet for progression in the game. The PvP fame farmer is just taking someone who isn't up to par with the rest of the group, for a price. They still have to play - there's no manipulation going on.
Unless, the rest of you are all upset that you don't have the cash or skill to get a /rank emote.
It's the same as facing an R10 team, this one just has a weaker player.
edit: belladonna, stop trying to usermod. This thread is relevant and should be kept open until it degenerates into a flame war. They're banning on a bullshit principle, and it should be fought.

We need to start banning PvP groups that have a less experienced member who just happens to be a friend of someone in the group.

Yes Yes, I would agree that OP should be banned and this thread closed per the rules of the forum.
Banning for Fame farm i do not agree deserves ban per the rules of EULA.

That's your theory, maybe things should be that way, but they are not. The important is not how you suppose things should be, the important is how things are.
I "earned" the ranks I have (two or three years ago), and you know what... I don't give a *** about other players ranks. I don't really care about ranks, I play with my friends, or pug when I'm bored, but the important is not the amount of points I get, the important is entertainment, that's the purpose of PvP.
If people want a statue in their HoM, I don't care, good for them.
In fact, the only reasons I see to ask for bans is jealousy or e-peen, don't try to amuse me with your "how the game should be". If you want people who paid for ranks banned it's simply because you feel your ranks (or those you can't get) are diminished by these players.
And there we fall into the same old problem: people want to be recognized in a video game, and don't play for fun, which is quite pathetic. And of course, when there are easier or different ways to get to the same "achievements", they feel offended.
As long as the game allows you to take a low ranked person in your group to help him earn points, there should be no bans, even if he gives gold in return.
BTW, PvP is no longer about skill, it's about commitment, as long as you are able to spend enough time playing, are not completely retarded, listen to what experienced people say, and analyze the way you play, you can do anything, skill is just a little plus, but won't take you anywhere.
I've known several high-end gvg players (top 10, mat finals...), and they're far from being geniuses, they just spend a lot of time in game, they have objectives and do what's necessary to reach them.

Who can say that they have never been run somewhere, run through a mission or bought an item from another player for in game cash?
Who would say that those activities need to be banned?
Used to be in the begining ppl would say getting a Droks run was wrong and should not be allowed. This is when not everyone could run it and many have yet gotten a run to Droknars Forge.
It seems that ppl are willing to say something is cheating and should be banned if they are not involved in it. The more ppl do fame farming the more accepted it becomes, not because its right or wrong but how many ppl have done it or received it.

Generally speaking, most titles aren't worth squat in the game because they can be bought or farmed.
Survivor....punch out.
Skill capping.....tomes.
Protector and Guardian.....runs.
Some you have to work for, like cartographer, but for the most part, most titles are no longer really considered prestigious. Even vanquishing can be ran for you.
And before you start going on about petty jealousy because I have no titles, I am 5 titles away from GWAMM. (I'll screenie it if you want) I've honestly spent the time working for my titles and I do feel jipped when something I worked hard for, someone else gets in half the time and even less effort because they paid to simply have it handed to them. However, I know there really isn't much of a point b*tching about it because nothing changes. Although I honestly don't understand what the point of 'playing' the game is if you're not actually going to play it.
Anyway, to the OP - I am sorry you got banned, but I honestly don't think selling fame should be allowed. I've never bought fame (which I can prove by my measly 4 fame) and have never considered it. I figured if I wanted it I would work for it, which is the 'correct' way to do it. Even if it is a pain in the azz to get into a group when you're not ranked (which is partly why I despise pvp). Selling things like this just shouldn't be 'ok'. If you want a title, work for it!
